This page is intended for filmmakers, professional and amateur, who find the site and are curious about what we have going on behind the scenes. We’ll be shooting on a hybrid set up, with a 7D and an EX1.
Canon 7D
Designed for pros and semi-pros alike, the Canon EOS 7D is a high-performance digital SLR, that features the resolving power of an 18-megapixel APS-C format CMOS sensor and dual DIGIC 4 image processors that enable 8 frames-per-second capture of high-definition, low-noise imaging at sensitivity levels up to ISO 12800.
In addition to high-definition still images the Canon EOS 7D can also capture true HD 1080p video at 30 frames per second. Video clips can be up to 12 minutes in length or 4GB in size, and you can make full use of all Canon EF and EF-S-mount lenses, which enables an exceptional range of creative visual possibilities. And to ensure clean, blemish-free image files, the 7D employs a dual dust-reduction system.

Sony EX1
Sony’s PMW-EX1R XDCAM EX HD Camcorder is the impressive successor to the popular PMW-EX1. While retaining everything that was right about the previous camera, Sony has listened to its professional users and taken several steps forward, not only improving ergonomics and convenience, but bringing a whole new set of features to the world’s only full HD compact camcorder.
Like its predecessor, the PMW-EX1R’s core is its three 1/2″-type CMOS sensors and 14x Fujinon zoom lens. This heavyweight imaging combo captures full 1920 x 1080 hi-def images to solid state SxS PRO memory cards at multiple bit rates, resolutions and frame rates. Whether you’re shooting weddings, documentaries or feature films, there’s a frame rate and resolution for you–from 60fps and native 23.98p recording at 720p, to 1fps at 1080i.
Cartoni F103 Focus System (Legs and Head)
Extremely compact and lightweight the innovative Focus features a continuously variable fluid damping system on both pan and tilt movements and an unprecedented patented variable counterbalance which brings its range of use to cover all existing ENG and DV cameras. The Focus head comes equipped with a quick release sliding camera plate illuminated spirit level and orientable pan bar. Its tilting angle is +/-90° with perfect response throughout the entire tilt range. It interfaces with all 100mm bowl base tripods and supports. The extreme ruggedness and versatility together with an outstanding quality/price ratio make the Focus the best possible support for news operators and DV videographers.
